To Our Valued Community,
At Rochester Psychological Assessment & Testing, we believe in the dignity, strengths, and
potential of every individual. As a psychological assessment group dedicated to serving people
across the lifespan, we are especially committed to creating a welcoming and supportive
environment for neurodiverse individuals and their families.
Neurodiversity encompasses a wide range of neurological differences, including but not limited
to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other cognitive variations as well as the neurological impacts of
complex trauma. These differences are not deficits—they are natural variations in how people
think, process, learn, and experience the world.
We recognize that many neurodiverse individuals face barriers not due to their
neurodevelopmental profile, but because of a lack of understanding, accessible resources, and
inclusive systems. Our mission is to change that. Through our assessments and services, we aim
to:
•Provide comprehensive, affirming evaluations that focus not just on challenges, but on
the individual's strengths, preferences, and goals.
•Advocate for accurate diagnoses and appropriate supports that empower individuals
in educational, occupational, and social environments.
•Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to promote
understanding, inclusion, and meaningful accommodations.
•Continue educating ourselves through research, training, and direct engagement with
the neurodiverse community, ensuring our practices reflect current knowledge and lived
experiences.
We are committed to treating every person with respect and compassion. Our assessments are
person-centered, culturally informed, and trauma-sensitive, and we strive to reduce the stigma
that too often surrounds cognitive or behavioral differences.
If you have questions about our services, would like to collaborate, or want to learn more about
how we support neurodiversity, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
The RPAT Team
